Fall and Winter Schedule

The school year has begun and fall is just around the corner. The fall/winter outreach schedule is now available. This schedule begins in September and runs through the end of the school year.

There have been some changes, so take note!

Summertime!

I have posted the summer outreach schedule. There are no changes to adult services. There are changes in the children's schedule. There are also some additions...the library is happy to be collaborating once again with Wheeling Parks and Recreation for our Make a Splash - READ summer reading program. There are craft and story times scheduled at several local playgrounds throughout the summer. Join us for great summertime fun!

Want to start a book club?

If you live in Ohio County, in a high rise, retirement home or other facility and have a group of friends that like to read... you can start a book club.

The OCPL has a varied and interesting selection of book club books available. I will work with your book club group to choose titles, and can help facilitate at whatever level is comfortable for you. I can simply supply the books, facilitate book discussion, or anything in between. Whatever works best for your book club group.

Start a book club group this summer! Call the library and speak to Julia Bachmann, Outreach Services Specialist, to get started.

An update on OCPL Outreach Services...

Spring is here! Which also means it is time to gear up for summer programs at the library!
A summer outreach schedule is in the works. As soon as it is complete, it will be posted in the library and on the blog.

Once again, we will be partnering with Wheeling Parks and Recreation to provide storytime in conjunction with their craft program held at local playgrounds. These storytimes will be posted on the Parks & Rec summer schedule as well as the OCPL Outreach schedule.

The tide is also coming in for our annual Summer Reading Club! This year's theme...Water! The children's program is Make a Splash. The young adult program is Make Waves, and the adult program is Water Your Mind. There will be weekly prize drawings for participants and some special programs for all. Registration for summer reading will begin in June and the program will run until August. Details to come!

Back From Maternity Leave

I returned to work this month and have resumed some story times and the regular adult outreach schedule. The current schedule is posted. Be aware that there are some minor changes for some patrons. Outreach Services will kick back in to full gear this fall when school resumes.

It was nice to have a few months off to spend with my beautiful baby. Many thanks to Katilyn for filling in while I was away. It was nice to know Outreach patrons were well taken care of!

Maternity Leave

Hello!
Sometime toward the end of March I will be welcoming a son or daughter to the world and will take three months maternity leave to enjoy my new baby!
Outreach services will continue...with some changes.
Katilyn will be taking over part-time during my leave. We had hoped to be able to continue all Outreach Services as is, but that will not be possible on a part-time basis. We will continue all adult Outreach Services and monthly book delivery to schools and day care centers. We will have to discontinue story times to schools and day care centers during my leave, which will run approximately from the end of March to the end of June (depending when the little one makes his or her grand entrance).
Some delivery times will change, so I will post the modified schedule and provide copies of this schedule to all Outreach Patrons, both Children and Adult.
